The student-run College Union Activities Board, also known as CUAB, decided to take an alternative approach to this year’s Springfest concert by booking Yellowcard, who is currently set to perform all summer on Warped Tour and announced that they finished recording their latest album on May 15.

“Music triggers memory, as strong as any of the senses. Smell is the strongest sense that will send you back in time. I think music or sound is the second strongest. And these are above looking at a picture, above visual. These senses are more powerful. If you have a memory that’s attached to a certain song in your mind you really sort of really remember how it’s supposed to sound.”

North Central College was one of 53 universities to partake in a conference call with the stars of “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. The sequel was the topic of conversation as the film is set to release in December.

KC and the Sunshine Band may not be a familiar name to many students at North Central College, but their songs are known by all generations. “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way (I Like It),” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” came around in the 1970’s and have been used in over 200 films since then.
